7 Easy Halloween Toddler Crafts With Free Printables For Moms

Hello, lovely mums, welcome! I hope you are doing well.

Halloween is around the corner, and I am so excited! I love seeing little ones in adorable costumes, and that crisp autumn air feels wonderful. But if you have a toddler at home, you might also be feeling a bit of stress.

I understand why. When you look online, you see such beautiful, picture-perfect crafts. Then you look at your child, who is busy trying to eat a crayon or smearing glue on the dog. It might seem like we can't handle these fun holiday activities. They often feel too messy or too hard.

But I have a little secret for you: crafts don't have to be perfect! Your child doesn't care if their paper pumpkin has a crooked smile. They want to sit with you, laugh with you, and keep their little hands busy with an activity. If you want an even easier way to capture their childhood milestones, creating a DIY Halloween footprint keepsake is another stress-free option.

To make life easier for you, I’ve gathered some of my favourite Halloween crafts. They are perfect for little hands, and the best part? I’ve included free printables! You can print these easy sheets. Your child can start colouring or help you cut them out right away. No special artistic skills required!

Here are 7 super cute and simple Halloween crafts you can make with your little one today. And if you are also looking for fun outdoor activities for an upcoming community event, don't miss our 5 Last-Minute Trunk or Treat Games for Busy Moms that you can set up just as quickly!

1. The Happy Little Paper Plate Pumpkin
Pumpkins are the best part of October. This craft is wonderful because it helps your toddler practice using glue, but it does not matter where the pieces land!
  • What you need: A paper plate, orange crayon or paint, black construction paper (or our printable shapes), and glue.
  • How to make it: First, let your toddler color or paint the whole paper plate orange. While they are doing that, you can cut out simple black triangles for eyes and a funny mouth. If you use our printable sheet, just cut out the pre-made face shapes. Then, let your baby put glue on the plate and stick the face pieces on. If your toddler loves this activity, you can find more budget-friendly inspiration in our full guide on Easy Halloween Toddler Crafts: Cheap Paper Plate Ideas for Busy Moms!
  • Mother's Tip: If the eyes end up on the bottom of the plate and the mouth is on top, leave it! It makes the pumpkin look silly and unique.
2. Sweet Little Footprint Ghosts
I love crafts that keep a memory alive. Your baby’s feet will never be this small again, so this one is very special to hang on the refrigerator.
  • What you need: Dark paper, white washable paint, a paint brush, and a black marker.
  • How to make it: Paint the bottom of your toddler's foot with white paint. Yes, it will tickle! Giggle along with them. Press their foot firmly down onto the dark paper. Once the paint dries, flip the paper upside down so the heel is the top of the ghost. Draw two little black eyes and a mouth on the heel part.
  • Mother's Tip: Keep a wet towel right next to you before you start. Wipe that little foot immediately so you do not get white footprints all over your clean floor!
3. Shiny Foil Wrapped Mummies
Toddlers love tearing things and wrapping things. This craft is excellent for their tiny fingers and keeps them busy for a good chunk of time.
  • What you need: Our printable mummy cutout sheet, aluminum foil, tape, and googly eyes.
  • How to make it: Print out the simple mummy body shape from our links. Tear up small strips of aluminum foil for your toddler. Show them how to wrap the foil around the paper body to make it look like a mummy. Use a little tape to hold the ends down, then glue two big eyes on top.
  • Mother's Tip: Do not worry about wrapping it perfectly. A messy mummy is a cute mummy!
4. Spooky Cotton Ball Ghosts
This is a very soft and sensory craft. Toddlers love the feeling of fluffy cotton balls, and it is a great way for them to practice gentle touching.
  • What you need: Our printable ghost outline, cotton balls, glue, and black paper circles.
  • How to make it: Print out the big ghost outline sheet. Squeeze some school glue all inside the ghost shape. Let your toddler squeeze and stick the fluffy white cotton balls onto the glue until the ghost is nice and puffy. Finish by gluing on two black paper eyes.
  • Mother's Tip: Squeezing the cotton balls is great for building strength in those little hands. Let them pull the cotton balls apart to make them even fluffier.
5. Candy Corn Tissue Paper Art
Candy corn is so bright and pretty, even if we do not always love the sugar rush! This craft gives you all the pretty colors without the sticky mess.
  • What you need: Our printable candy corn template, yellow, orange, and white tissue paper cut into small squares, and glue.
  • How to make it: Print the candy corn sheet which is divided into three sections. Put glue on the bottom section and help your child stick yellow tissue paper there. Do orange in the middle, and white at the very top.
  • Mother's Tip: You can crumple the tissue paper into little balls before gluing. It gives the craft a really neat texture and is super fun for a toddler to smash down.
6. Friendly Handprint Spiders
Spiders can be a little scary, but these ones are just sweet. Just like the footprints, this is a wonderful keepsake for your scrapbooks.
  • What you need: Our printable spider web sheet, black washable paint, and googly eyes.
  • How to make it: Print out the sheet that has a pretty spider web drawn on it. Paint your toddler's palm and four fingers black (leave the thumb unpainted). Press their hand down on the web. Then, paint the other hand and press it down with the palms overlapping so the fingers point outward like spider legs. Glue eyes in the center.
  • Mother's Tip: If paint makes you nervous, you can trace their hands on black paper instead, cut them out, and glue them to the printable web!
7. The Colorful Trick-or-Treat Bucket Collage
This is a fantastic way to use up any random scraps of paper, stickers, or ribbons you have lying around the house.
  • What you need: Our printable trick-or-treat bucket sheet, scraps of colorful paper, crayons, and glue.
  • How to make it: Print the big bucket template. Give your child crayons to color the bucket. Then, give them a small bowl filled with colorful paper scraps. Let them glue the scraps coming out of the top of the bucket so it looks like it is overflowing with delicious Halloween candy.
  • Mother's Tip: This is a great time to talk about sharing and kindness. You can ask them, "Which candy piece would you give to grandma?"
A Quick Reminder For My Fellow Mamas
When you are doing these crafts, please try to forget about the mess. I know it is hard. I know you see the glue dripping and the paper scraps falling, and you want to clean it up right away. But try to just enjoy the moment.
Talk to your baby while you work. Ask them about the colors. Ask them if the ghost says "Boo!" Listen to their little giggles. These are the days we will miss so much when they are big. The mess can always be cleaned up later, but these memories are made right now.
You are doing an amazing job, mama. Never forget that. Happy crafting, and have a beautiful, safe, and happy Halloween with your beautiful family!

I love sharing these fun holiday moments with you, but please remember that I am just a fellow mom sharing what works in my own home, not a professional art teacher or doctor. Toddlers are wonderfully curious and love to put everything in their mouths! Super Simple Halloween Crafts For 2-Year-Olds: Mom-Approved & Mess-Free

Hello, lovely mama! Welcome to my little corner of the internet. October has finally arrived, and you know what that means—Halloween is around the corner! I love this time of year. The crisp air, cosy sweaters, and the magic sparkling in our children's eyes make it truly special. But celebrating Halloween with a two-year-old can be a bit exhausting and challenging. I remember spending hours on Pinterest last year. I’d see these beautiful, perfect Halloween crafts and think, "Oh, my sweet little one would love making this!" Oh, how wrong I was. Five minutes into the craft, we smeared bright orange paint all over the living room carpet. My child's hair matted with sticky white glue. Glitter was stuck to the cat. It was a total disaster, and I actually cried while cleaning the floor. I learned a big lesson that day. Two-year-olds don't care about perfect crafts. They want to touch things, explore, and spend time with us. And as busy moms, we certainly don't need ...

Best and Easy Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Peacefully

Hello, my dear sisters, mothers, and friends! I hope you are well.  Today I have come to talk to you all from my heart. Sitting like this today, I remembered my past. When my son was small, he used to bother me so much that he would not sleep. I would get tired. Sometimes I would try to put him to sleep on my chest, sometimes I would carry him in my lap and sleep, sometimes I would put him in a swing and swing him, and I have also spent such nights that the whole family was sleeping and I would walk with my child and he would fall asleep like that, then when I would lay him on the bed, he would start crying again. I would feel helpless. I would blame myself for not knowing how to handle a child. Then my grandmother explained to me that this is the story of every mother. It happens to almost every mother. She made me realize that this is not my failure, but rather it is a part of the immense love that Allah has placed in the heart of a mother. She hugged me with great love an...

Best Food and Care Tips for a 16-Month-Old Baby

Hello to all my beloved mommies! Today morning, while standing in the kitchen to prepare a steaming cup of tea, my little boy hid himself behind the dining table and pulled me by tugging on the corner of my dress. This mischievous little guy reminded me of how he used to be when he was 16 months old. Well, in reality, toddler age is absolutely charming, full of innocence and blissful moments. But then again, it may be extremely exhausting too! On one hand, they make us smile from our hearts. While on the other, we just want to sit and rest for a minute.  Once there was an afternoon when I prepared some halwa with so much love for him. And when I was trying to feed him using a spoon, what happened next? He took that entire bowl and flipped it completely on his head! Seeing that adorable little face of mine laughing with halwa covering his hair, all my frustrations vanished into thin air. Truly, this is an enchanting period. Our babies are no longer mere infants who keep lying calmly...
